§ 74-8. Inspections.

  • (a)

    All wreckers licensed under this chapter must be inspected for mechanical efficiency and proper inspection tags yearly and must maintain at all times a state inspection under the provisions of R.S. 32:1303.

    (b)

    Each wrecker covered under this chapter shall be inspected annually by the city and/or parish department public works according to a written checklist or guidelines, a copy of which shall be in the hands of the permittee or his agent at the time of inspection. The checklist or guidelines shall be prepared by the city council. The department of public works, upon satisfactory inspection, shall issue a permit indicating the type of use the vehicle is permitted under this chapter.

    (c)

    Time periods and issuing grace period for which vehicles under this chapter are to be inspected shall be set by the city council.
