§ 10-22. Vaccination by veterinarian.

  • Such vaccination or immunization of said dogs shall be made under the supervision of any licensed practicing veterinarian, and shall charge to the owner for such service, per head, according to the circumstances, which service shall include furnishing the owner of said dog with a certificate showing the date of said immunization, the name and address of the owner, and the name of the dog, if any, and a general description of the dog; following issuance of said certificate, the owner shall be provided with a metal tag which shall at all times be conspicuously worn by the dog so immunized, and the said certificate shall be duly registered with the city parish government, who shall keep a record of such certificate, and bear the same serial number as the metal tag placed on such dog; that such certificate and metal tag shall not be delivered to the owner until such immunization has become effective. The amount of the charge for the vaccination shall be in an amount as established by the city parish government.
